RDC Chugim Week 6

Ma’dah (Science):

In Ma’dah chug this week we continued with STEM puzzle lab, with some of the activities being learning and doing challenges with the Pigpen Cypher, and learning and working with simple logic gates made of Play-Doh and popsicle sticks.

Omanut (Art):

This week in Omanut, we were so productive! Comic Chug was a huge hit, and kids enjoyed planning, writing and drawing their full-scale comics to share with peers. In Clay, we made everything from miniature shoes to our favorite desserts. We made fancy friendship bracelets out of string. We even made ice cream cone keychains entirely out of beads! Finally, we enjoyed another week of Israeli sketching with some impressive drawings of landmarks such as the Kotel and the Golan Heights. It’s a joy to see how much the chanichim are engaged in their Omanut projects, and we can’t believe we only have one more week left!

Sport:

This week in sports chugim (choice activities), we were so active! Track and field was a huge hit, and chanichim (campers) enjoyed racing, jumping, and cheering each other on. In 9 square and volleyball, kids worked on their teamwork and had a great time competing with chaverim (friends). We also had fun with gaga, lawn games, and ultimate frisbee out on the field. Chetz v’keshet (archery) and Har Ramah (our climbing wall) let campers challenge themselves in new ways, and cheer brought out everyone’s ruach (spirit)! It’s a joy to see how much the chanichim are growing in confidence through sports.

Bishul (Cooking):
This week in Bishul (cooking), we celebrated rainbow week with colorful creations! In Bishul B’chutz (outdoor cooking), chanichim made corn, pita, and chocolate fondue right over the fire. It’s been so fun watching the chanichim experiment with new flavors and techniques each week.
