Etzim Week 1 Recap

Etzim had a fantastic first week of camp. We had tons of kef (fun) in the Shemesh (sun) and even on the rainy day. From climbing

Har Ramah (climbing wall) to showing off their moves in rikud (dance), trying their hand at Chetz v’Keshet (archery), and throwing some great passes in flag football, every chanich brought their own spark of curiosity and joy to the week.

Friday was especially meaningful, with a special tefilah (prayer) experience that gave chanichim three unique ways to connect. Some found calm and intention in a meditation session of Birchot HaShachar, others brought their ruach (spirit) to Tennis Baseball for Mode Ani, and a third group played soccer for Or Chadash. It was a beautiful reminder that there are so many ways to make tefillah your own, and watching the chanichim find their connection was special.

To close out the week, Etzim celebrated Yom Galaxy (Galaxy Day) where chanichim made rockets. Two of our chanichim were also recognized with meah milim (100 Hebrew words). As Shabbat approached, the Kedah came together to learn new shirim (songs) and welcome a restful and joyful end to an incredible week. We cannot wait to see what next week has in store — and don’t forget to pack some extra ruach (spirit) right alongside your lunch!
