Meet our Ramah Service Corps Fellows

Meet our Ramah Service Corps Fellows!

Each year, Ramah hires a few counselors to help us bring the magic of Ramah to our local communities and synagogues throughout the off-season. This year, we have five awesome Ramah Service Corps fellows who will be joining us throughout the virtual landscape to help facilitate reunions, peulot, and meet new faces. We are so excited for you to get to know them!

Hello! I’m Liam Shemesh! I am a sophomore at Skidmore College, where I am a philosophy major and business minor. Kayitz (Summer) 2021 will be my 9th with Ramah, and I’m so excited to be starting early! In my free time, I enjoy reading, watching soccer, cooking, and playing spikeball. My favorite Jewish holiday is Passover because I love my family seders and my mom’s cooking.

Hi! I’m Alexa Singman! I am a junior at Muhlenberg College in Allentown, PA. I am a psychology major with an art minor. I worked at the DC Day Camp in 2018 and 2019 and I had been planning to again in 2020. In my free time I make balloon animals, juggle, do magic, paint, and bake! My favorite Jewish holiday is Passover because I love getting to see my whole family and sharing in all our traditions.

My name is Eytan Layman and I go to the University of Maryland. I have been going to Camp Ramah for twelve years, spending eight years as a camper and four on staff, and I like playing frisbee and reading in my free time. My favorite Jewish holiday is Chanukkah because I really like remembering the story and I love the food.

Hi, I’m Eliana Safer! I’m a junior at Binghamton University and studying biology on the pre-med track. I went to Ramah New England for eight years as a camper and two years as a counselor for the best ten summers of my life! In my free time I like to run and train with my cross-country team. My favorite Jewish holiday is Passover because we always have my whole family over and it’s the one time of year we all get to see each other at the same time!

Hi! My name is Sarah Rosenfeld and I am a junior at the College of Charleston in South Carolina, majoring in Religious Studies and International Studies. This semester, I am home in West Hartford, CT and am extremely excited to be a part of the Ramah Service Corps! I have been involved with Ramah for 13 years, first as a camper and now on staff. In my free time, I enjoy dancing, reading, and spending time with friends. My favorite Jewish holiday is Passover because it is when my entire extended family gets together every year!
