Nitzanim Week 3 Recap

What a wonderful beginning we had to session B! The weather cooled off enough for some great activities – bishul (cooking) brought chocolate chip cookies; rikud (dance) honed some of our favorite dance moves; and omanut (art) kept us busy with drawing, weaving, kippah decorating, and more!

Wednesday we welcomed half of our families to Mishpacha b’Ramah (family night). We loved showing everyone our amazing machaneh and sampling all of the fun activities we do here. As usual, Har Ramah (our climbing tower) was one of the most popular, but we had some highly competitive ga-ga games too. Thanks for eating, dancing, and singing with us. And to buses 4, 5, 7 & 8 (plus carpool) – we’ll see you on the 15th!

Thursday was the Nitzanim field trip to The National Cryptologic Museum. This amazing facility covers two centuries of code-cracking, cypher-creating American (and world) history. Campers went on a scavenger hunt around the building, learning about Enigma, Navajo code talkers, the Jefferson wheel cipher, and much more. What a great day!

Friday gave us the opportunity for some Shabbat prep, singing and dancing, but also alternative tefillot. We explored our camp Torah and looked at some special features and sections of it, and we also made gratitude notes and shared some of  the many things we’re appreciative of in our lives. Ask your chanichim for their answers – we got a lot of thoughtful responses.
