Nitzanim Week 5 Recap

As we kick off a new session, Nitzanim brought together familiar faces moving up from Big Idea and new chanichim (campers) joining us for the very first time this summer! It has been wonderful watching this group come together, with returning chanichim welcoming their new chaverim (friends) into the machaneh (camp) family.

This week, Nitzanim celebrated Shavua Yisrael (Israel Week). During z’man migvan (small group time), our chanichim got creative making limonana (an Israeli mint lemonade) in bishul (cooking). Nitzanim was also the first to find the hidden golden box in the scavenger hunt. Nitzanim’s competitive spirit didn’t stop there either, as chanichim continued trying their hardest to finally win the coveted golden broom for being the cleanest edah at lunch.

In tefillah, we had a special time welcoming our Rosh Shira Miriam, filling the room with music and song. In the breicha (pool), some swimmers bravely tried out the deep end for the first time, while others moved up a level. We are so proud of them!

It has been such a joy watching this group grow closer and more confident, and we can’t wait to see what the rest of the session brings!
