Omanut Session 3 Recap

Ancient Cultures:  Egyptian Cartouches, Greek vases, Roman Mosaics, Asian Fans, American Plains Indian Buffalo Hides, and Aztec Sun Designs were the projects that campers learned about and created.  These ancient forms of art influence the art we see today.

Judaic Crafts:  Campers explored their own Jewish identity by making hamsas, tzedakah boxes, mezzuzot, and a Shabbat kit, including candle sticks, a challah plate, and challah cover.

Collaborative Canvas:  Working together to brainstorm scenes of camp, campers illustrated and painted their ideas on canvas with acrylic paint.  These canvases will be part of a growing visual collection of Camp Ramah memories on display all summer.

Yetzirah: Superheroes has been our theme this session, as we discussed what qualities a superhero may possess for Tikkun Olam. Students then created their own superhero out of Popsicle sticks and other craft materials
