Ramah M’Rachok!

Ramah Day Camp of Greater Washington and Camp Ramah New England are excited to announce the launch of Ramah M’Rachok (Remote Ramah) – our new programmatic initiative to bring the ruach of Ramah into the homes of our extended Ramah kehillah (community). We have lots of great programming lined up for the coming week!

Our overnight camp colleagues, Simon Luxemburg and Pamela Kekst, also have blog posts with great ideas of stay-at-home activities to bring the joy of Ramah into your home. Be sure to check them out! If you have any questions, or have program ideas you would like to see LIVE on Ramah M’Rachok, don’t hesitate to reach out to Simon or Pamela.

Coming Up This Week:

We are continuing to offer a variety of camp-like peulot (activities) that you may participate in virtually.  In addition, we have a few activities that you can do from home without a screen in front of you.  We look forward to hearing your feedback and hope you will enjoy participating in many of these different options.

Offline Activities:

Looking for things to do at home any time?  Check out this fun “If I Were the Camp Director” and this Ramah Anomia Card Game! Email your completed mad libs to Linor (Day Camp) or Pamela (Overnight Camp) for a chance to win a prize.

Short Story Contest:
  • We invite our hanichim (campers) and their families this week to write a short story relating to Pesach! Please email your story to Pamela (Palmer) or Linor (Day Camp) with your edah and age and the winning story from each camp will be published on the respective camp’s Facebook page!
  • Prompt: Pretend like you are an Israelite who is getting ready for your journey through the desert. What are you excited about? What are you worried about? Who is with you? What do you pack? What will you eat? Will you sing songs?
  • How does it feel to be on your own journey out of Egypt? What freedoms are you looking forward to? What freedoms are worth fighting for?
