RDC Chugim Week 5
Omanut (Art):
This week in Omanut, we celebrated Shavua Yisrael by learning about special locations throughout Israel and sketching them with mixed media. We also dove into paper crafts, making everything from party hats to Jewish origami. Mosaics were a big hit too. Campers made mosaic picture frames and a big group mural mosaic together. Finally, we broke out the cricut machine to make Israel-themed hats and other accessories. We can’t wait for another exciting week in Omanut!
Sport:
This week at sports was a blast! Making its return as always we had Chetz v’Keshet (archery), Har Ramah (climbing tower), and of course gaga. New to camp, we had street hockey, track and field games, and volleyball B’Ivrit! Ultimate frisbee also made an appearance, with campers and counselors having a great time playing against each other.
Maadah (Science):
In Maadah chug this week we’ve begun with the STEM Puzzle Lab. This includes solving puzzles of all kinds, from giving “code” to a “robot” (counselor) to help them complete a maze to building puzzles and creating word searches.
Bishul (Cooking):
In indoor bishul, the theme was rainbow week! Chanichim made fruit salad, chocolate cupcakes with rainbow decorations, rainbow pancakes, and rainbow sprinkle no-bake energy bites.
In bishul b’chutz (outdoor), chanichim pickled different vegetables, made Israeli salad, and roasted corn on the firepit.
