Yom Trip

On Wednesday, all three edot went on different field trips for our second Yom Trip of the summer, and we all had a blast!

Shorashim spent the afternoon at Discovery Station, a hands-on museum that strives to educate children in a fun way through its exhibits. The hanichim got to explore all of the exhibits where they were able to program robots, dress up, race cars, learn about the history of airplanes, create art projects, play with dinosaurs, learn about outer space, and recycling! The hanichim had a great time learning new things in a fun, interactive way!

Garinim’s edah trip to Green Meadows Petting Farm was awesome! We had the opportunity to pet goats, bunnies, chickens, turkeys, horses, pigs, mules, donkeys, a llama and a kangaroo. The hanichim were able to milk cows and meet baby goats and chickens. They watched pig races, went on a hay ride, and had a ton of fun playing in the corn bin, burying our madrichim, and hanichim. The hanichim had a fabulous time!

Nitzanim had a wonderful time on their field trip to the Meadowside Nature Center and to the Gaithersburg pool. The the hanichim enjoyed their time at the interactive exhibit on Native Americans. After, they engaged in an extensive Q&A session with the Nature Center’s head birdkeeper about orion the bald eagle, an owl and a falcon, during their training and feeding. After a picnic lunch, the hanichim spent a wonderful hour at the Gaithersburg pool. They enjoyed swimming laps, jumping off the diving board and going down the water slides.
